Yoga Therapy & Private Classes

Vikki is a yoga therapist and has experience working one-on-one with students with various medical or mental health conditions. One-to-one classes are also suitable for those who just prefer to focus on their practice on an individual basis.

Yoga therapy is defined by the International Association of Yoga Therapists as “the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and wellbeing within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalised assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management and yoga practices for individuals or small groups”.

Yoga therapy can benefit a number of health conditions including anxiety, depression, insomnia, cancer, PTSD, arthritis, back pain, heart conditions, respiratory conditions, migraine, chronic fatigue, Long Covid, amongst others.

Sessions can take place at Hummingbird Pilates & Yoga Studio in Writtle or online via Zoom, some home visits can be offered (see pricing below). A personalised home practice and recordings will be given for you to follow between sessions.

A course of sessions is recommended and a commitment to home practice. Before you start yoga therapy you will be asked to complete an information form, which will need to be returned before your initial session. Your first yoga therapy session will be 90 minutes to include assessment and an in-depth conversation to establish how yoga therapy can help you, with follow-on sessions 60 minutes.

The cost is £75 for the initial 90 minute session, with follow on sessions costing £50, or you can book an initial session with four follow-on sessions for £250. Home visits may be available at an additional cost. Sessions can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or ad-hoc, whatever best suits you.

If you are experiencing financial difficulty at this time, with a need for yoga therapy, please do get in touch. I allow capacity to take on up to two clients at any one time at a discounted rate.
